Welcome to the home page for the Soil and Water Geospatial Analysis Lab
The Soil and Water Geospatial Analysis Lab (SAWGAL) was founded by Dr. Brian Needelman in 2002 to study spatial and geostatistical analysis, soil mapping and applications, pollutant fate and transport and using pedology concepts to address environmental problems.
The SAWGAL is in the Department of Environmental Science and Technology in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The SAWGAL is located in the HJ Patterson Building on the University of Maryland College Park campus and has field, laboratory and greenhouse sites elsewhere on campus and through the region, especially on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
